On July 19, there were four OMEPA board members, DeAnn Garrison, Kelly Kicklighter, Vanessa Kehl, and Larry Dalton, along with John Gallagher from VGM, that visited in person with Oklahoma US Senator James Lankford and Senator Markwayne Mullin’s offices and Oklahoma US Representative Stephanie Bice’s office to discuss their support for US Senate Bill 1294.
We had two main ASK: 1). Requests for Senator Lankford and Senator Mullin to co-sponsorship S.1294 , and 2). Concerns with lack of oversight of Medicare Advantage (MA) Plans – specifically inadequacy of networks that impact Rural and underserved portions of Oklahoma.
Senator Lankford notified us Monday, July 31, 2023, that he will cosponsor S.1294 upon returning from the August recess. This is a huge accomplishment for OMEPA and the DME industry nationwide.
